Vinod Khanna Only big banner films with central role for Vinod Khanna

Yesteryear superstar Vinod Khanna has decided that he will not sign any films unless it is a big banner movie in which he plays the central role.

"With just one film in his bag - Chooriyan directed by Sukhwant Dhadda - the actor is busy hunting for some big roles," says a source. "He wants a role that will be the central character in the film, has a big budget with a big banner to boot. In the absence of the above mentioned combination, he is not willing to accept any offers."

Khanna, who made a comeback to the big screen with a negative role in Vishram Sawant's Risk, has been repeatedly rejecting offers from producers since.

Before Risk, Khanna had taken a break from the industry for 5 yrs and was busy with his political career.

Profile

Vinod Khanna's notable films include Chandni (1989) directed by Yash Chopra, Dayavan (1988) and Qurbani (1980) directed by Feroz Khan and Amar Akbar Anthony (1977) directed by Manmohan Desai among others.

Khanna climbed up the charts as an actor in the 70s. He was at the peak of his career when he left films and went to stay in Osho's ashram to fulfill his spiritual desires, only to return after a few years.

In 1997, he produced Himalay Putra, which was the launch pad for his son Akshaye Khanna. Unfortunately, the film did not create any waves at the box-office.

As a BJP politician, Khanna has held the posts of Union Minister of State of Tourism and Culture and Minister for Foreign Affairs.
