SRK SRK to produce 100-crore film for Jaan-E-Mann director

Shah Rukh Khan is all set to launch a 100-crore budget sci-fi action film under his banner, Red Chillies Entertainment with close friend Farah Khan's hubby, Shirish Kunder as the director. The yet untitled film will star the King Khan himself in the lead and the finalization of the rest of the cast and crew will be done in a month's time. The film will go on floors early next year and will be entirely shot in Mumbai.

According to our sources close to the superstar, "SRK has begun pre production planning on his most ambitious project, which will be replete with visual effects on par with big budget Hollywood films like Pirates of the Caribbean and the Spider-Man series. Being a big sci-fi genre fan himself, the Don star had always wanted to make a film on such a subject. When the Jaan-E-Mann maker approached him with his script, SRK got so excited that he not only decided to act in it but produce it himself as well."

Our source further adds, "SRK had last year started the VFX division of his Entertainment Company, Red Chillies-VFX. For his biggie, the Badshah Khan is now set out to expanding his FX Company's operations. His FX Company currently has a staff of 25-30 artists and technicians and he is looking at doubling his team for working on his film. Technology giant HP is providing end to end solutions for his studio and now SRK has plans to import state of the art technology which is being used for super hero flicks abroad. Visual effects play a vital role in his upcoming biggie so he will be spending a lot of time on pre production before the actual shoot begins. And after his film is shot, around 8-10 months will be spent on post - production and visual effects."

"SRK is also on the lookout for a suitable place to set up a huge studio in Mumbai. He lost one opportunity to finalize a deal over a piece of land in Mumbai's Bandra - Kurla Complex. Now he is searching for the right place." our source concludes.

Shah Rukh, who is currently holidaying abroad with his family, was unavailable for comment.

Editor turned director, Shirish Kunder made his directorial debut with the Akshay Kumar - Salman Khan - Preity Zinta starrer Jaan-E-Mann, which was released on the same day as SRK's Don during Diwali last year. The clash resulted in the bombing of Kunder's film.

Kunder's wife, Farah had directed Main Hoon Naa (2004) for SRK's production company and is currently busy wrapping up Om Shanti Om that stars the King Khan himself opposite newcomer and model turned actress Deepika Padukone, Shreyas Talpade and Arjun Rampal.
