Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon Director: Sooraj R Barjatya
Music: Anu Malik
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor

Rajshri Productions produces and presents Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (MPKDH), starring Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan.

The Rajshri tradition of providing us with good family entertainment is evident in the film. But besides the family values and typical Indian emotions, Sooraj has given a refreshing, contemporary touch to the movie.

For the first time, the movie is shot extensively in foreign locales. It features an array of stunning exotic places in New Zealand, Mauritius and India.

The movie tells the story of Sanjana (Kareena Kapoor), who lives in Sunder Nagar with her parents (Pankaj Kapur and Himani Shivpuri) and her pets - parrot Raja and dog Johny. Her elder sister Roopa (Tanaz Currim) is married and settled in the US.

Roopa has somebody in mind who she feels will be an ideal husband for Sanjana. He is supposed to visit Sunder Nagar to see her, know her and interact with the family.

Enter Prem (Hrithik Roshan), who is the complete opposite of what Sanjana is. But Sanjana finds herself drawn towards Prem. At that point, enters Prem's boss, whose name is also Prem (Abhishek Bachchan) and he too falls in love with the vivacious Sanjana. The rest of the story is about how the girl has to choose one of them.

Though the story is not a new one, the movie holds the attention of the viewer very well. The turning point in the first half does come as a surprise and the interval point raises the expectations for a dramatic second half. True to his style, Sooraj offers a plethora of drama and emotions.

It also caters to the demands of the Indian movie-going audience. The Abhishek-Kareena interaction and how their friendship grows or the sequence when Hrithik learns of Abhishek's engagement to Kareena and even the climax leaves the audience with a satisfactory ending.

The wrapping up is the best part of the flick. In fact, the drama in the last half hour, during the engagement ceremony, is brilliant. The sequence when Kareena confronts Hrithik is novel.

Hrithik Roshan is an actor who has retained his boyishness from Kaho Na Pyar Hai and has given a brilliant performance. The role he has portrayed is of the boy-next-door and very identifiable. He is awesome in his dance performances!

Kareena Kapoor is a delight to watch. She has gotten into the skin of the character and portrayed her part with great interest. The best part is that she has made an effort to look and perform differently this time around.

Abhishek Bachchan underplays his part well. However, the length of the role does not give him much scope to prove his acting capabilities.

Pankaj Kapur is fabulous. His contribution to the emotional sequences is tremendous. Himani Shivpuri is excellent, especially in the first half and also towards the interval point. Rima is alright. Johny Lever is hilarious. Raja (the parrot) and Johny (the dog) are sure to be liked by the kids.

Dev Kohli has written the lyrics and Anu Malik has given the music that is a good combination of romantic and foot-tapping songs like Papa Ki Pari Hoon Main and Sanjana, I Love You. The trio of Chitra, KK and Sunidhi Chauhan have rendered the songs.

This film is a must watch for all as it is a good mixture of drama, emotions, comedy, good star cast and good performances by all the actors.
