Kya Love Story Hai Kya Love Story Hai: Fully Faaltu

Indya.com 1 out of 5 *

Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Ayesha Takia and debutante Karan Hukku

Director: Lovely Singh

Synopsis: Good for nothing, Arjun (Takia) meets Kaajal (Takia), but to express his feelings, he is too shy. He realizes she fancies self made men. He packs off to Mumbai from Cape Town, comes back months later with a multi-crore contract. It is too late as, on his arrival he sees her getting engaged to the man of her dreams, a multimillionaire stud, Ranveer (Karan). Interval. On coming face to face with her he hides his emotions and continues to be her best pal in times of distress. Finally, like you guessed it, on the eve of her marriage, Kaajal realizes her choice was wrong and Arjun was her real Mr. Right. After a weary climax, Arjun and Kaajal walk into the sunset.

Kya Love Story Hai Acting: One feels sad for Tusshar who seems to have put in his best in a lifeless role and a mindless film. He is cute, in the song where he tries to imitate papa Jeetendra's dance steps. Ayesha is on a record spree of playing roles of an engaged girl in distress. Newcomer Karan Hukku has a good screen presence but poor dialogue delivery skills. Two blokes who play Tusshar's pals irritate like hell.

Direction: Debutante Lovely Singh's love triangle doesn't entertain from any angle. He had worked as an assistant director for Tusshar's debut film, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai and the influence of that film and Tusshar's character in it is seen all throughout. Mr. Lovely forgets that it has been 6 years since then and presentation and story telling techniques have grown by leaps and bounds.

Kya Love Story Hai Script: The film has absolutely nothing new to offer but the same old ghisa pita stuff wherein you can see a scene and predict the next one, the interval point and the climax. The scriptwriter, Rahul Singh also plays the part of one of Tusshar's friends, giving himself sufficient footage wastes time over his antics in desperately trying to woo girls. After every three scenes he comes with another annoying sidekick and makes you cringe in your seat watching their juvenile attempts to patao girls.

Music: Pritam gives only one rocking number, the Kareena Kapoor item number, Its Rocking. The song has no connection whatsoever to the film and is shown just after the opening titles roll. As it ends, we are shown it was a dream song of the honorable script writer of the film. Kareena looks luscious and jives well. The rest of the songs are nothing noteworthy. One wonders why in every song Tusshar is shown walking to nowhere? Was he trying to walk out of the film?
