Just Married Just Married: Just Bored

indya.com rating: 2.5 out of 5 *

Cast: Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol, Perizad Zorabian, Bikram Saluja and Kirron Kher
Director: Meghna Gulzar

Synopsis: Abhay (Fardeen Khan) and Ritika (Esha) after having an arranged marriage are on their honeymoon to Ooty. Strangers to each other, both slowly start knowing each other as the days are passing by. They encounter four other couples who have been put up in the same hotel and form a group of sorts with them. Amongst them there is an old couple (Satish Shah - Kirron Kher), a newly married couple (Sadia Siddiqui - Mukul Dev), a romantic couple on their third honeymoon (Bikram Saluja - Perizad) and a NRI unmarried-in-love couple (Zutshi - Tarina). When Abhay initiates intimacy, Ritika misunderstands him and the couple has a big fight and end up separating their beds from each other. As their honeymoon comes towards an end their differences are sorted out and both begin on a new journey back to the same hotel to have the honeymoon the way it should have actually been.

Acting: Fardeen gives his best natural performance and so does Esha. Veterans Satish Shah and Kirron Kher are good. Bikram Saluja needs to improve his dialogue delivery. Perizad has acted well. Mukul Dev and Sadia come out good. Raj Zutshi and Tarina Patel are okay. TV stars and off screen couple Eijaz Khan and Anita in a very small role as the lead pair's friends makes a perfect on screen couple.

Direction: Meghna starts off well with an innovative narrative style in the first few initial reels. Her 'hatke' style of showing the movie's titles is laudable. But she fails in holding the film tightly together in the second half and it turns out to be one big bore.

Script: Meghna has also done the scripting of the film. She has done a good thing by focusing mainly on the Fardeen - Esha couple. But after their fight during the interval time, the film simply stagnates in the second half. It refuses to move forward and lot of time is wasted in unwanted situations. The never ending unbelievable climax involving a bus accident is a total downer.

Music: Pritam has given a few good tunes and they have been shot well too. The film begins with the Ram Milaye Jodi sung by Sukhwinder - Sunidhi and Shaan, a hummable number picturised on Eijaz and Anita getting married. The party song, Baat Pakki well worded by Gulzar, sung by Shaan and Neeraj Shridhar has a catchy tune. Gudgudee a soft romantic song shot on beautiful Ooty locales on the honeymoon jodi of Fardeen - Esha makes a good watch and is pleasant to the ears.
