Director: Vicky Chopra
Producer: Sohail Khan
Music: Pritam
Cast: Suneil Shetty, Zayed Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sohail Khan, Dino Morea, Aashish Chaudhary, Dia Mirza, Neha Dhupia and Amrita Arora
Multi starrer films are the flavour of Bollywood this year and riding on this bandwagon, Fight Club is another entry to the list. Fight Club comprises of Suneil Shetty, Zayed Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sohail Khan, Dino Morea, Aashish Chaudhary, Ashmit Patel, Yash Tonk, Rahul Dev, Dia Mirza, Neha Dhupia and Amrita Arora.
Fight Club is an exhilarating journey of four friends, Vicky (Zayed Khan), Karan (Dino Morea), Somil (Ritiesh Deshmukh) and Diku (Aashish Choudhary). The story takes a turn when Vicky thinks to start a Fight Club, a club which gives people an opportunity to score with their enemies in an atmosphere of fun, action and excitement.
Team Fight Club gets entangled in affairs with Anu (Dia Mirza) and Shonali (Amrita Arora). They make them travel to Delhi to look after a nightclub, 'Crossroads', which is in the eye of a storm created by Delhi's most dangerous gang lords, who kill to survive.
Anna's (Suniel Shetty) brother Mohit (Yash Tonk), gets killed. This fills Anna with vengeance and situations take an ugly turn. Dinesh (Ashmit Patel) is a merciless soul who masterminds the plan of a killing. His brother Sandy (Rahul Dev) gives him strong company as always.
Team Fight Club calls on their ace, Sameer (Sohail Khan), a power packed bouncer to tilt the balance in their favour. In the puffed up atmosphere of fists and fights Sameer finds love in the name of Komal (Neha Dhupia). Now, in a strange new city, these five boys from Mumbai experience love, passion and also the worst enemies in the form of gang lords that one can even imagine.
Vicky Chopra's directorial debut leaves us with disappointment. The climax fails to impress the audience.
Music by Pritam who has Dhoom, Chocolate, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena to his credit, is mediocre.
The first song of Fight Club, Yeh Khuda that begins as a Pritam special with an English rap, is similar to Dus Bahane from the hit flick Dus. Pakistani artist Ali Zafar's superhit Channo from Huqa Pani is rewarded as Chhore Ki Baatein in Fight Club. Shweta Pandit returns to do a solo Joshile Java Ho, the music of which is a direct copy of Pritam's own Mummy Ko Nahi Hai Pata (Chocolate).
Sohail impresses with his performance. Zayed Khan gets better with every movie he does and he is indeed the star of the movie. Ritiesh Deshmukh and Dino Morea have played their parts efficiently as Mr. Right and Mr. Perfect.
Suniel Shetty as Anna has done a good job. Ashmit is impressive in a negative role, though his physical attributions do not match well with his character in the movie.
Dia Mirza, Amrita Arora and Neha Dhupia have nothing to do in this male-dominated flick but they have done a decent job. Amrita with her carefree attitude and Dia Mirza with her modern and appealing look fit the roles they play.
Dialogue by Sohail Khan, Mayur Puri and Vicky Chopra gives momentum to the film. Though, screenplay of Sohail Khan and Vicky Chopra is good but it could have been better. But the film scores on action. Some action scenes are refreshing and breathtaking, Abbas Ali Moghul & Co have done a superb job.
Go watch Fight Club and enjoy the ride!
