The story is about world famous heart surgeon Dr Viren Goenka (Rajat Kapoor), his wife Sanjana (Konkona Sen Sharma), and their daughter Anishka (Princy Shukla).They lead a busy and a happy life together. Dr Goenka goes to Delhi to receive a national award when their life takes an unexpected turn. Krish (Irrfan Khan) gets their daughter Anishka kidnapped and asks for Rupees 3 crores for her return. While Krish keeps an eye on Sanjana, his partner Ruhi (Sandhya Mridul) holds Goenka hostage in his hotel room in Delhi and their third partner Kabir (Zakir Hussein) keeps an eye on Anishka. To get their daughter back alive, they have 24 ghante to pay up.
The father manages to get 3 crores and gives the money to Ruhi but the kidnappers disappear with the money and the child.
This film does not fit into the so-called box-office parameters. There are no songs, the actors do not wear branded clothes or drive flashy cars. The film is shot in exactly three locations--the doctor's house, the hotel room and the cottage hideout. There are 6 characters. All the actors once again prove their versatility and their sheert mastery over their craft.
Deadline-Sirf 24 Ghante is for a niche audience.
