Rocking Promos of forthcoming releases
Bollywood makers have started the trend of incorporating promos of their forthcoming films with big releases. Latest being the promos of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom with Ta Ra Rum Pum and those of Cash and Dhol with Spiderman 3. This Bollywood summer looks promising with many mega budget entertainers set to hit the silver screen. Here is doing a promo watch of what's in store ahead for Bollywood fans in the coming weeks.
Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (15th June)
The promo opens in a London open air cafeteria setting with an illiterate looking Abhishek introducing himself to a hip Preity Zinta, "Myself Vicky..Vicky Thukral" he says. She gives him an inconsequential look and replies "I am Alvira...Alvira Khan from Lahore." Cut to - flashes of trendily dressed Bachchan Senior (he plays the sutradhar in the film) walking, playing a bagpiper across the London streets and the signature tune of the movie playing in the background. Trying to ward off her unwanted companion Preity shows Abhi her engagement ring and says, "I am engaged. I am waiting for fiancé who is coming from Birmingham". AB Jr hits back, "Me too" and shows her ring saying, "Dekhiye original Topaz". We then see the other couple in the film Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta dancing to the title song number shown sung by Big B. This is followed by both the couples dancing together in a huge club together. The promo ends with Abhi reluctantly asking Preity, "Did you have sex with your boyfriend."
This cross cultural romantic comedy coming from Yash Raj is directed by Shaad Ali Sahgal who has earlier directed Saathiya (2002) and Bunty Aur Babli (2005) for them. Music is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy who created magic with the Kajra Re number in Shaad's last.
Fool N Final (1st June)
This one opens like a comic book page with its characters shown dressed like superheroes on the pages. What follows next is a collage of assorted scenes from the film coming onscreen in quick succession without any dialogues. We see Sunny Deol as a desi Hulk flexing his muscles and fighting with gora pehelwans, Shahid's jaw dropping bicycle stunts and much more. The film also stars Vivek Oberoi, Ayesha Takia, Sameera Reddy, Chunky Pandey, Arbaaz Khan, Jackie Shroff along with funsters Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever. Fool N Final appears like one crazy comedy where you are expected to leave your brains back home.
Directed by choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan, the film has music by current flavour of the season, Himesh Reshammiya.
Dhol (6th July)
The promo begins with the introduction of its four lead actors along with their on screen names. Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Khemmu and Rajpal Yadav, are all one by one shown trying to sing a song and and ending up besuraas. They are shown practicing trying to woo the hot gal next door, played by Tanushree Dutta. The teaser then showcases their funny attempts to get closer to her with each one of them shown atleast once in her good company and teasing his competitors at the same time. This fun riot is directed by Priyadarshan who has an enviable record of delivering a long list of successful comic cappers like Hera Pheri, Hungama, Hulchul, Garam Masala and Malamaal Weekly.
Cash (13th July)
This one by far looks the most exciting film of the lot. If you felt action in Hindi films can't get any better than Dhoom 2 or Dus, watch out for Cash. All its lead characters - Ajay Devgan, Suneil Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh, Zayed Khan, Esha Deol, Diya Mirza and Shamita Shetty are shown doing stunts that have never been witnessed by Hindi cine goers. The film carries the tag line, "Earn money the hard way - steal it." Ajay-Suneil-Riteish and Zayed play robbers who are after diamonds. Shamita Shetty is shown playing a cop with the South African police. The promo shows the foursome being chased by cops and villains and in this process carrying on Allan Amin's innovative stunts that are on par with any top notch Hollywood production.
Cash is directed by Dus maker Anubhav Sinha and promises non stop edge of the seat entertainment for action hungry Bollywood fans.
