From Dombivali Fast to Mumbai Meri Jaan
Director Nishikant Kamat is making his debut in Bollywood with his movie titled Mumbai Meri Jaan. Kamat has made a name for himself with Dombivali Fast, a Marathi flick with record breaking achievements.
"The movie is emotional and will be on the floors by the end of this month or by June" says a thrilled Kamat.
According to him, unlike his last movie "this film will have one or two songs and will feature R Madhavan, K. K Menon, Irfan Khan, Paresh Rawal, Soha Ali Khan and some Marathi actors as the cast. The overall shooting of the movie will be done Mumbai. It's still in its initial stage so I can't reveal much."" he says.
The Director, who has previously worked in the Marathi and Tamil industry, has no anxiety about this new territory he is treading saying, "Only language changes and not filmmaking"
Dombivali Fast starred Marathi actor Sandip Kulkarni. Nishikant remade the movie in Tamil, shooting in Chennai, with R.Madhavan in the lead. When asked about whom he thinks is better between the two to play the lead he very diplomatically concludes that "it is difficult to distinguish who is better. They are both the best in their own way."
