Nana Patekar's second tryst as a Director
This phase in Nana Patekar's career is different. Films like Apaharan, Hattrick and Yatra showed the actor in differtent shades other then his screaming and shouting at rapid fire speed. (Krantiveer, Tiranga, Kohraam etc.) During the making of Apaharan, Patekar had bonded well with Prakash Jha and even after the film was released their friendship continued, so much so that Prakash Jha offered Nana a film to direct.
This will be Nana's second directorial film. He had made his debut as a director with Sudhakar Bokade's Prahaar (1991) which had Dimple Kapadia, Madhuri Dixit and Nana had played Major Chauhan. While Prakash Jha is in Bihar and was not available, Nana just said "nantar sangtoh" (will talk later).
The work on the screenplay is still going on, but at the end of the year Nana's film will be launched. And when Prakash Jha comes back from Bihar, he will start his film Rajniti.
All we can do is wait for the end of the year to see Nana Patekar don the director's hat.
