Seetti Maarke Jhoom
Producer Aditya Chopra is planning to bring the cinema screens alive during the song sequences of his forthcoming Abhishek- Preity- Bobby- Lara starrer, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. He wants to recreate the same magic initiated during the shows of Rajashri's hit musical, Hum Aapke Hai Kaun (1994).
Our Yash Raj productions source reveals, "Adi has plans to use laser lights whenever the title track, picturised on Amitabh Bachchan, plays across the screens. Also he wants to distribute whistles to all the patrons visiting cinema halls showing Jhoom Barabar Jhoom so that they can blow them whenever the Big B song plays. He wants his audience to dance and enjoy the songs and feel like a part of the film when the song plays."
"But there is a hitch to it" adds our khabru. "Director Shaad Ali is not too keen on carrying on with Adi's idea. He feels these gimmicks will take away the desired impact of his hit songs. Both of them are insisting on having their way. But knowing Adi, it is taken for granted that he will be getting on with his novel idea despite Shaad's objections. The expense of laser lights and whistles is to be borne by Yash Raj themselves. Talks have already begun with multiplex owners and major single cinema halls across the country. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom is all set for its 15 June release."
An industry insider comments, "The Yash Raj head honcho is a big Sooraj Barjatya fan and had acknowledged so too during his interviews when his debut film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge released. His maiden film also had certain shades, like the family members enjoying song and dance routine together, which were an important part of Sooraj's Salman - Madhuri's record breaking success. Now with his forthcoming musical, the Dhoom 2 producer wants to recapture the same element of HAHK's festive mood."
Meanwhile the controversy surrounding the JBJ title track still continues with effigies of Yash Chopra being burnt by Daler Mehndi fans. Daler filed a case against Yash Raj for cheating him with the song. Originally, he had sung the track but when the JBJ audio was released he found that the song was dubbed in Shankar Mahadevan's voice. Shankar is a part of the Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy music trio who have composed music for the film.
