Sunny Deol Sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha?

There are reports that director Guddu Dhanoa is going to direct a sequel to Anil Sharma's Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001). The Sunny Deol-Amisha Patel starrer was one of the biggest hits of cinema.

It's said that the original director Anil Sharma refused to direct the sequel following which Dhanoa, one of the Deols' favoured directors, was roped in.

Sunny Deol's secretary Neena Rao refused to comment. "I don't know anything. Ask Guddu, he should be able to tell you everything."

When contacted, Guddu Dhanoa denied the reports. "I don't know who is spreading this rumour. I am not making any sequel to Gadar. I am directing a love story with Sunny, produced by Zee, and will be narrating the story to Vidya Balan tomorrow (Wednesday May 9). Let's see what she has to say."

"Since it's a love story, Sunny will be given soft colours, different hair style, just wait you will see a different Sunny. He plays a cop, but the action will be different," added the director, preferring to speak more about his other project.

We spoke to Anil Sharma too. "These are all rumours. There's no sequel to Gadar nor is anyone remaking the film,' said Sharma, firmly squashed any ideas of a sequel/remake of his hit film.

Guddu Dhanoa, who had made Bhagat Singh, with Bobby Deol playing the title role and Big Brother with Sunny Deol and Priyanka Chopra, belongs to the Deol camp while Anil Sharma is the Deols' favourite director and has got the three Deol men to star in his film Apne, which will be a June release.

Let's wait and watch...
